There are two core courses for the Global Executive Track - Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering.
The first core course is From Idea through Launch I & II. In this course, learning partners will explore the processes of creating and developing a product or service from the ideation stage to the marketplace implementation stage. Idea through Launch is separated into part 1 and part 2 which equally divides 12 separate modules. Modules include innovation, knowledge management, lean and global product development, human factors, and launch readiness.
The second course, From Launch through Sustainability I & II, picks up the processes where Idea through Launch leaves off. Again, this course is separated into 2 parts with 12 separate modules. Learning partners will explore the life cycle process of a product or service, with respect to sustainable value. Some of the modules will include supply chain and global supply chain, international business practices, lean manufacturing, decommissioning, and recycling.
These courses are designed to develop a learning partner's sense of the processes from ideation through decommissioning by providing:
Teaching Style
To offer our learning partners a more holistic view of these modules, this program employs a team teaching strategy. Experts from engineering, anthropology, business, and industry lead the classroom discussions. Furthermore, our learning partners are expected to provide knowledge and discussion based on their individual experiences in the global marketplace. As an added benefit to our learning partners, this program also draws on knowledge of the international community by bringing industry leaders from around the globe into the classroom.
